Seamless integration into SolidWorks provides direct access to the necessary dimensions, tolerances, units and custom properties of your SolidWorks and drawings.  In just a few clicks you can instantly create ballooned drawings and inspection reports.

Balloon your 2D Drawings

InspectionXpert for SolidWorks automatically balloons your SolidWorks 2D drawings, dramatically reducing the time you spend creating inspection packages and increasing your accuracy.

InspectionXpert's Characteristic Tree displays the dimensions, geometric tolerances, notes, hole callouts, weld and surface finish symbols extracted directly from your SolidWorks drawings.  Powerful filtering capabilities enable you to specify which types of drawing annotations to include in your inspection form.

Quickly Handle Revisions

Your inspection characteristic data is saved in your SolidWorks file for easy reuse or updates.  Revision changes are a breeze with InspectionXpert.  Just refresh your inspection project with InspectionXpert when you have a revision change and accept the changes to quickly re-balloon your drawing or model and instantly export to a new inspection report form.

Powerful Customization Options

InspectionXpert's powerful customization options let you enter inspection methods and processes from user-defined lists and add comments to capture information unique to your company's procedures.  Easily change balloon formats including rotating balloons to match the angle of the characteristic, or change the shape, size and location of balloons. Inspection balloons can be added to a separate layer on your SolidWorks drawing which can easily be turned on or off.

Add or modify Inspection Project Properties to capture information such as drawing revision or part name which can be linked to custom properties in your drawing or model. Once data has been added to your custom properties it can be mapped over to your inspection reports.

Set up default tolerances by range or by precision for when an explicit tolerance is not specified and save them to your inspection project settings.  Default tolerances can be set for length and angular dimensions.

Supports Quality Sampling Plans

InspectionXpert for SolidWorks supports statistical sampling based on ANSI Z1.4 single sampling by attributes.  Simply set the lot size, inspection level inspection type and Acceptance Quality Limit (AQL) and InspectionXpert calculates your sample size, and accept and reject numbers.  Populate your inspection report with this information for fast and accurate sampling processes.

Our Customers

“Even on a six- or seven-sheet drawing with a couple of hundred dimensions, with InspectionXpert for SolidWorks at the most it would take us five minutes to create an inspection sheet. Without the software, it would have taken a technician a day to create that same inspection sheet.” Mike McKee, Engineering Technician
